Compact mode - Minimal view to launch apps and recent files
If you use the Creative Cloud desktop app to launch your applications such as Photoshop or Illustrator, you would like a way to quickly access these shortcuts without launching the full experience with the app catalog, CC library manager, update manager, etc... Let's discuss this feature in this thread.

Hi Ryan,
on the minimal state, I'm interested in understanding what would be the use case. How would you use the Creative Cloud desktop app. We're exploring multiple solutions: compact mode, shortcuts from the menubar, etc..The information that we display in the current design helps users who don't perfectly know our catalog (desktop, mobile, web apps). That's why we introduced the product pages to explain what Dimension is for instance, or new apps that we'll release soon. We are also introducing new tools to manage your assets and files, starting with the Creative cloud Library manager, but there is more to come.

Hi Jared, you should see significant improvement in terms of performance with the new version actually. The UI is now a standard app store one to guide our users through our rich catalog of applications (with product pages), and also new tools such as the Creative Cloud Library manager in Your work, that I invite you to try.

I actually find the app to be rather pointless other than the fact that it syncs my fonts and files, install software. Otherwise I never use it...it also is just another resource that slows my system down. The new version is sooo big. I wish I could go back to the older version.

the new creative cloud app is big and chunky and wastes alot of screen space. To be honest i found the old one was just a bit too big too. can we have a minimalist view? maybe something 1/3 or 1/4 the width of this? and since we know what the software is that we are using, we can loose the "create beautiful graphics, photos and art" line all together. Also if websites can figure out how to tell if you are on a mobile device, or computer this app should be able too as well and then you can get rid of the three buttons on the top too, and the icon beside every app.
Also you don't need to advertise the creative cloud app on the creative cloud app. that is probably 25% of the current real estate.
